The Angelman Syndrome Collections Showcase

Held in the fashion capital of the world — New York City, is an event of fashion and charity on April 23, 2016. Taking place at Studio Arte, 265 West 37th Street, New York, NY 10018, an array of international designers will be showcasing their latest for FAST the Foundation for Angelman Syndrome Therapeutics to invitees of various members of the fashion industry, and the media.

Joanna Marcella, the founder and creator of the Angelman Syndrome Collections Showcase is aiming to raise awareness of Angelman Syndrome. She is inspired by Colin Farrell, who is also an advocate for Angelman Syndrome awareness and she is also motivated by her grandson, Manasseh, who has Angelman Syndrome.

About Angelman Syndrome

Angelman Syndrome is an exceptionally rare condition that is characterised by laughter, hugs and a mutual fascination of shiny things – including water.  AS is a severe neurological disorder distinguished by intense developmental delays, problems with motor coordination and balance, and epilepsy. AS effects the development of functional speech. People living with AS require life-long care, intense therapies to help develop functional skills and improve their quality of life. AS affects all races and both genders equally.
