Florida man strikes again. This time, he goes by the alias Trassh Vampire, and he’s hitting us with some auto-tuned vocals rather than a barb-wire-bat. With his latest single, ‘Suicide!,’ Trassh is pushing the boundaries of rap.
The Miami-based rapper is another addition to the “I Don’t Give A Fuck” Club. There is a line that is unquestionable proof of the absence of any fuck: “We out here, don’t ever give a fuck.” Case in point. The music as a whole, paired with the visuals that dropped the same day, tell you that Trassh is not an authorized retailer for fucks. It’s an eerie, yet visually appealing experience that fans are sure to enjoy.
Another significant line in the song comes from the chorus: “I was hurt, I can’t cry, no, no, no.” Whether the line is simple enough to be quoted in a bunch of other songs, it doesn’t take away from the power behind it. Trassh was hurt in some way, but life moves on. There was no time to cry, the show must go on.
It must be said that at a few points in the song, the auto-tune renders his vocals nearly incomprehensible. It may take a few runs to catch some of the bars he drops. Somehow the song remains a catchy bop, with enough energy to be a go-to crowd pleaser at any of his shows.
There is a lot of weird news coming out of Florida these days. Even some notable people from Florida are not the most normal people to have walked the Earth. Trassh Vampire is somewhat embracing that, using it to push himself away from the ordinary. He is definitely an artist worth keeping an eye on in the future.
