Womenswear has always been in the forefront every time you think of the fashion industry, even though most creative directors/designers are men, but that’s a different issue for another article. Menswear, up until the 1970s, were met with traditional and formal looks and trends. Today, there’s an obvious evolution. Men today are just as fashion conscious -if not more- as women.
I’ve only been following men’s fashion for not too long, maybe for about a couple of years, so I don’t know a whole lot about that world. However, I was very impressed with the trends I’ve been seeing on the runways for 2016. This year seems to be more saturated with trends in menswear. So to keep you looking good for your side piece and/or your main girl. Fellas, listen up. (Ladies, you can, too.)
I didn’t know how receive this one when I first saw it. At first, I was like, “Why?”. But then, I was like, “I get it.” Style with an oversized leather jacket.
So, go to your grandfather’s closet. Reach all the way in back and pull out that coat from 1945. I’m a HUGE fan of long lined coats (mostly because I’m practically a giant).
I believe that bomber jackets can either become a staple item, like the leather jacket or it can become that one garment you bought when it was amazing to have, but then a year later, it turned into the worst thing to have. They first started to appear as street style. If you decide to wear one, try a dark hue, such as navy or black. It’s perfect for laid-back days for when you just want to be comfortable while looking like you belong on a Tumblr fashion blog.
Everyone has a love-hate relationship with plaid. If you know how to coordinate, it can look like you don’t when you wear plaid. I personally don’t have an issue with plaid. It’s all about coordination. If you want to wear plaid, might as well go crazy. Go head to toe or not. I don’t control you.
To be very honest, puffer coats aren’t the cutest outerwear to put on. It’s purpose is to keep us warm when the cold decides to want to kill us. However, this season, like the Raf Simons pictured got the oversized treatment, like the scarf and long lined coat. The attempt to make the coat fashionable worked.
