“You have to be able to accept yourself, even if you don’t know who you are” says R&B/Alternative Hip-Hop artist and producer Keyz Vango. It’s a truth he’s leaned on through a whirlwind couple of years of exploration and self-discovery. The southern born ‘Bama Boy turned City Boy grew up in a Christian household where secular sound waves were off limits, nevertheless the itch for making music found its way to him.
Keyz plans to debut his long overdue EP “Late,” following a series of new releases including his latest single, ‘Choosy.’
‘Choosy’ is an infectious post-retro-funk bop with a lyric theme revolving around a conflicting duality in which different choices lead to different outcomes in a relationship. Keyz crafts together a catchy flow with hook melodies reminiscent of TLC’s 1994 hit ‘Creep.
If you liked the song then you’ll definitely enjoy the music video. The cinematic piece filmed by directors/screenplay writers, Tommy Rebel and Kelly Liu, tells a story of a breakup that we can all relate to. There were beautiful shots from the disheveled apartment and the scenic view of Brooklyn at night. And we can’t forget the addition of ‘Headlights,’ another song of Keyz, which perfectly closed out the story and music video.
